Welcome !
ASEE is the premier organization devoted to the promotion of Engineering Education. The Middle Atlantic Section dates back to 1942 when the organization was named Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education (SPEE) and it carries on with the tradition of transforming the Engineering teaching and learning process.
The Section covers a broad geographic area, including New York City area, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington, DC to mid-State Pennsylvania. We encourage new and old members to support our activities, especially our fall and spring conferences.

Engineers use principles of mathematics and science combined with innovative thinking to solve problems and create new designs that benefit humanity.  Albert Einstein once said, “Scientists investigate that which already is; but Engineers create that which has never been”.

If you would like to become more involved with our Section the executive committee invites you to join us at our Executive Committee meeting at the Spring Conference at Johns Hopkins University, Friday, March 27. We are open to new ideas to promote excellence in engineering science and technology education in the Middle Atlantic Section.

We look forward to your participation at our Spring Conference on March 27-28, 2020, at Johns Hopkins University.  Look for the conference website, here soon.

The 2019 Fall ASEE Midatlantic Section Conference is a two-day event that spans March 27-28, 2020. A networking/dinner event is planned for 6:00pm on Friday evening.
The theme of the conference is 'Inter- and Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Education' which can be read in two different ways:
“Inter-disciplinary” engineering education refers to engineering programs, courses, and assignments/projects that combine and/or require more than one discipline to complete successfully.
“Multi-disciplinary” engineering education refers to preparing students to work effectively with others from outside of their major discipline, typically through team assignments and activities.
The ASEE Mid-Atlantic Spring 2020 Conference committee has decided to try a slightly non-traditional format for this conference:
Instead of scheduling multiple presentations concurrently, only one presentation will be given at a time. We hope this will result in a more “unified” conference, since we will all be attending the same presentations.
We would like all of the presentations to align with the conference theme of Inter- and Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Education.
